Counting songs make learning numbers FUN!

The Singing Walrus Number Song and Video Collection is fun, catchy, and interactive. All of our songs are written in a way that children are encouraged to repeat important parts of the song or to simply sing along. This helps them understand and memorize new words and phrases without even trying! Our lesson videos are slow and easy to follow.

The Singing Walrus presents Counting by fives, a fun and interactive numbers song that helps young children learn how to count from 5-50 by fives. The song is perfect for both English speaking children and young learners of ESL/EFL. The video features Billy the cowboy, who likes to travel to different places and count by fives! On one of his journeys, he sees a train with five monkeys in each wagon. Count the monkeys with Billy!

Here are the lyrics:

(Chorus)
5, 10, 15, 20
25, 30, 35
40, 45
50

(Verse 1)
Billy is a cowboy,
A cowboy with a horse,
Billy goes to many places,
On his horse of course (of course!)

Billy travels all the time,
Even late at night,
He likes to look around and count,
And he likes to count by fives!

(Chorus)
5, 10, 15, 20
25, 30, 35
40, 45
50

(Verse 2)
Billy sees a train,
With monkeys passing by,
The monkeys sit in wagons,
Each wagon has five

The train is very long,
So Billy is surprised,
He opens up his eyes real wide,
And starts to count by fives!

(Chorus x 2)
5, 10, 15, 20
25, 30, 35
40, 45
50

Lastly, the video finishes with a fun number game where the children have to count the chicks on the screen!

My students LOVE your songs and I love the coordinating worksheets for penmanship practice. They always beg for more! Today, we saw your counting songs for counting by 5's and 10's. The tens were a hit and they enjoyed your 5's video, but asked why it didn't count to 100. We'd love to have a new song that counts to 100.

I teach upper elementary grade students with intellectual disabilities. My students (and I!) love the counting by 5s and 10s songs. We listen to them in morning meeting everyday, and after only 2 weeks, my guys are starting to sing these to find the answers to math problems such as computing area. Please keep up the great work!
